Help with planning

Hi, I will be bringing my friends from overseas around Singapore.

I intend to bring them to the Chinatown area and the Riverside area. Currently I have about a morning (roughly 5 hours) to spend, including lunchtime.

And I would like them to try our hawker centre food.

So I have two choices right now.

1. Bring them to Chinatown first then to the Riverside, where we can have our lunch at Lau Pa Sat

2. Bring them to the Riverside first then to Chinatown, where we can have our lunch at the Hawker Centre at Pagoda St.

Which is the better option?

And can anyone help me suggest a feasible walking route at the Riverside?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

Lunch at Chinatown hawker centre is more ';local'; in terms of food and atmosphere. It%26#39;s located at Smith Street, not Pagoda Street.

By Riverside, I guess you mean Singapore River. You can start from the Merlion and continue to The Victoria Concert Hall. Cross over the river to The Fullerton Hotel and continue to Raffles Place, the heart of Singapore%26#39;s financial district. From there head towards South Bridge Road. Once on it, head south west along South Bridge Road until Smith Street.

5hr? I suggest this:

(1) Visit Asian Civilisation Museum

After. head to the back of the Museum, where Raffles is standing (Raffles Landing Site) %26amp;

(2) Take a River Cruise down Singapore River

(3) Alight at Raffles Landing %26amp; bring them to eat at Market Street Food Centre (We call them Golden Shoe carpark, just infront of UOB Plaza.)

Try the following food:

2nd Floor - Nasi Lemak (Eat from the stall where Old couple is managing, NOT that young Man with the mother)

3rd Floor - Hainanese Chicken Rice (Old Uncle, with son %26amp; Wife - next to Fishball Noodles - which is good too) %26amp; the Teh Tarik at the corner on the same row as the Chicken rice is equally good.

Try to go lunch before 12noon to avoid crowd.

There, no need to walk too far to try anything %26amp; see anything in 5hr :P

Have a good time been a host. Cheers
