whats the best way to get to chang mai from singapore ie what airlines and best prices?

Im planning on going south to the beaches after a few days in Chang mai so any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated

Chiang Mai is served directly from Singapore by Silk Air (the %26#39;boutique%26#39; subsidiary of SQ). Unfortunately their fares are also %26#39;boutique%26#39; - although specials abound if you are 2 travelling together.

If you%26#39;re looking for %26#39;best%26#39; prices and don%26#39;t mind going the budget airline route, Chiang Mai is served by AirAsia direct from BKK (Don Mueang) or from KUL. So you could either go SIN-KUL-CNX or SIN-BKK-CNX. I%26#39;d go for the latter for more flexibility (timings, no. of airlines) but you%26#39;ll need to transit between Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang.

Go for the Silkair if you arent that tight on budget. The price is not too far off from the budget airlines unless you are booking way way way in advance.

The Silkair and the Singapore Airlines is slightly more pricey for good reasons: Punctuality, no fuss, reasonably comfortable seats, prompt services, good maintanance for aircrafts (hopefully that%26#39;s true) - and that%26#39;s what you really need for a good start to your holiday. =)
