Jetstar from Perth

Hi, I was interested if any Trip Advisors have flown on the Perth-Singapore route yet (started beg December), Any good or bad comments about the service?

Jetstar from Perth

I flew Jetstar from Singapore-Guangzhou. No complaints, it is budget airline - so you pay for everything; simple meals, drinks, even blankets. No inflight entertainment, so bring a book. Cabin staffs were responsive to requests, eg if you need to buy a hot/cold drink.

Presume the same standard will apply to their Singapore-Perth route. Friend of mine travels on Jetstar on this route very frequently. No complaints too. In fact he rather enjoys that there is no meal service and no inflight entertainment. So he settles in and sleeps throughout the flight.

My only complaint is that Jetstar lands at Budget Terminal in Singapore. You walk down the movable staircase and across a unsheltered area to your terminal building. It is a no-frills terminal, no comparison to Terminals 1, 2, and 3 of Changi Airport.

Jetstar from Perth

Oooophs; jut checked with my wife, who says that I am talking nonsense - we flew TigerAir (not Jetstar) to Guangzhou !!!

And friend of mine also flew TigerAir NOT Jetstar. So please ignore my previous post.

I believed Jetstar lands in T1 Changi Airport instead at Budget Terminal.

I recently flew with Jetstar from HCMC (Vietnam to Sydney) and found them to be excellent.

You do have to be aware of their baggage allowance and limited services which you have to pay and book ahead for.

The plane was extremely comfortable as most of the International planes are new.

You can pre-book your dinner, blankets and video screen before you leave Australia.

Sorry I haven%26#39;t flown Jetstar from Perth to Singapore but I imagine it would be the same deal.

I flew Jetstar last Saturday morning at 1 am. Hand luggage allowance was 10kg and we had paid for 20kg in the hold. The hand luggage may be reviewed as peoplae are abusing this. You walk down one flight of stairs to get on the plane and there is no walking across the tarmac at any stage. We were given one bottle of water as we walked on. Portable DVD players were $15 and you could buy drinks and food. Seats were leather and a reasonable size. Miniaml servioe Perth to Singapore but at 1am, who needs interruptions? It lands at Terminal 1 in Singapore. Flight back (5.45pm) was good. Meals and snacks could be bought. Meals and drinks on first service round and drinks on second. Wine (187mL bottle of Hardys) was $6AU. Reuseable headphones were $3. I would definitely fly Jetstar again to Singapore as they are so much cheaper. We looked at the price of flying in February and they are $600 cheaper than the other airlines. As far as I am concerned they are safe and the inconveniences are small and $600 buys a lot of inflight entertainment and food if that is a priority for you or can be used for other things in Singapore.

liemPerth,

How about leg room aboard the Jetstar plane? Will it be too crammed for a 1.8m tall guy? As much as I want to support our local Tiger Airways, the seats were just too crammed for my bf.

Legroom was fine. I am short but the others are taller. Seats did not recline very far.

Hi Thanks for those comments. Not looking forward to the 1am flight, hopefully the kids will try to sleep!

Just flew back from Singapore to Perth last week. Flight over was okay, leaving at 1.00 was pretty bad though. Also have to remember to ask your hotel whether you can check in early or leave your bags as you get to the hotel around 7.00a.m. We were allowed 20Kg of baggage plus 10kg of hand luggage. Plane left from Terminal 1 at Changi.

I was looking into Jetstar, but was put off by the fact that the seats don%26#39;t recline much. Plus they have a terrible reputation for taking off without you, and changing the date/time of their flights and not notifying passengers.
