I%26#39;m very excited as I%26#39;ve just booked to go on the first flight from London to Singapore on the A380 on the 18-3-08!!!
Just wanted to share the excitement!! Anyone else on the same flight?
Airbus A380
Not quite the same flight as you StickyMole, as we are on the other side of the world! But we are also very excited to to board the A380 on 11.03.08. We hope to be seating on the upper level.
Any TA to review your experience?
Airbus A380
We just got back from our holiday from Bangkok flying A380 on the upper deck....and I don%26#39;t mind flying again!! The seats are much bigger and comfortable, the movie screens are bigger, (better choices of movies and TV channels), lots to entertain the kids. There is an extra compartment between the seat and window, big enough to store your laptop, jacket and handbag so you don%26#39;t have to place them under the seats like other planes. The plane is very quiet during the whole journey. Upper deck consists of business class and only a small section of economy seats so serving of meals is faster and your request can be attended promptly. So if you can request for upper deck, go for it. Enjoy your flight.
we are travelling on A380 to Singapore on 9/02/09 en route to christchurch NZ. Was interested in your account of upper deck - is there an additional cost for this? It%26#39;s the thought of 1100lbs of water that they have to carry that concerns me - but only a little! Really excited about travelling on it
There is no additional cost for the A380 filghts or seats whereever you sit compared to the 747 flights that Singapore airlines operate in the same route (except for first class as this cabin on the a380 are all private sites rather than seats on the 747).
Thanks for that. And yes I have phoned Singapore airlines and requested our upper deck seats for outward and return trips so here%26#39;s hoping. Will report back - but we don%26#39;t return till end of April
If you booked your filghts online on the SIA website you can choose and change your seats at anytime up to checkin.
