Hi, just wondering if anyone can tell me which Hawker Centre is closest to the airport? How far from the airport is it?
We are flying into Singapore in about a week and have about a 4 hr stopover and really want to find a Hawker Centre to eat at during that time. We ate at them earlier in the yr on a 4 night stopover in Singapore and LOVED IT!!!
Thanx

Hawker centre near airportThanks, we are not fussy which one, doesn%26#39;t have to have A/C, just which ever one is closest to the airport and has a good variety.
Hi, a year ago I read a post talking about a hawker center within the airport. I don%26#39;t know if it is still up-to-date...here it is:

there is 2 food court at the airport (one is older in T1 and the newer bigger one at T2). Which Terminal u flying into ?
Anyways, if T1, go to the basement (past McDonalds towards the back, go out those doors and down those stairs, past another door, turn right thru%26#39; those doors and u r there).
T2 - go to the parking garage where the Taxistand is, take the elevators up to (dont remember which floor but think it is 4th) the food court, u will need to walk up a short flight of stairs then thru%26#39; a set of doors and into the food court. Highly recommend the beef noodles !!!
Hi _de_last_one,
For T1 should be Burger King not McDonalds.
T1 don%26#39;t have McDonalds, if I%26#39;m not wrong
BTW, in singapore, we call w/o AC as Hawker centre, with AC is Food Courts.
Food courts is slightly more expensive than Hawker Centre.
Hawker Centre .. some vendor carry the food to your table. So you must get a table 1st and know what is your table number. But some vendor is self-service
Food Courts.. 100% self-service
you can find one at Changi village very close to airport. Besides, there are shop eateries around, and you may want to wander a little around that area before heading beck to airport.
That was me looking for the Airport Canteen/Foodcourt last year before my trip. tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g294262-i1747-k152鈥?/a>
Well, I foubd the one in T2, and is wasn%26#39;t too hard to find from the carpark. Plenty of good stalls there including a Satay place. If you only have 4hours between flights I wouldnt venture out of the Aiport trying to find a place and rushing about. Just stick to the 2 places within the airport. Even though this is a staff canteen it is open to the public and the stalls display 2 prices, a discounted staff price and a still reasonable public price.
Hi Syd70
Take the advice from those who recommended the HAWKER CENTRE in the Airport. again, i reiterate... you don%26#39;t have to leave the airport. just remember...
they are not HAWKER CENTRE OR FOOD COURT in theory they are just the AIRPORT CANTEEN for staffs working there. don%26#39;t you worry about whether you can go there for your food. you know, lots of singaporeans staying in the east go there for the food as well. they are in fact... good very good. i can assure you that. in case, you wondering which is the best... most is the best but the longest que there is not necessary the best but most likely the cheapest.
so remember, Terminal One STAFF CANTEEN is easier to find. just ask the staff working in BURGER KING for directions if you need to.
Terminal Two STAFF CANTEEN is a little tricky... they can only be reach from the the carpark lifts on the left of the TERMINAL facing the main road. not sure, go ask the carpark office attendants on the 2nd floor.
remember, both Terminal One and Two staff canteens are equally popular with singaporeans as well. on weekends, it is super crowded.
enjoy...
I was just at the Changi VIllage Hawker Center highly recommend the Nasi Lemak at the ';International'; stand. S$3.50 for a plate, perhaps the best sambal and ikan billis I ever have. You can find this stand by the line of people waiting.
Changi Village Hawker is nice, as you can take a walk along the beach or watch the bum boats depart for Pulau Ubin.
Question for Changi Experts --
Does T3 have an employee canteen, similar to T1 and T2??
Thanks much!!
