hi! im travelling to singapore next week and im trying to organise my gym visits whilst im there.

i will be staying in toa payoh and i think my nearest gym (its an australian franchise) is in ang mo kio....can you please advise how far a distance is it between toa payoh and A.M.K?

Hi, are u taking public transport? By the MRT%26lt; its only a few stops, shouldn%26#39;t take more than 20 mins (journey only)max. If by taxi, its about 15mins. No advisable to walk :)

If its a 20min journey on the MRT how far a distance is that? - maybe 7 kilometres or something close to that?

Also why is it not advisable to walk?

You can definitely Jog from AMK to Toa Payoh but by the time U reach there, You prolly won%26#39;t need the Gym ^__^.

Singapore has got quite humid weather... which sometimes make walking unbearable as you would be perspiring under the hot sun.

However, if you are an enthusiast in jogging etc... and loves to ';sweat it out';... by all means you surely can go by foot!

Just make sure you check out the routes before you start jogging... =)

Nats, I hope you are extremely fit because the weather in Singapore is very hot and humid. Even walking in the sun can knock you about, if you are not used to that sort of weather. Take plenty of water.

the actual MRT journey from Toa Payoh to Ang Mo Kio is only 7 mins excluding waiting time. if your gym is in AMK Hub, that%26#39;s just a 2 min walk from AMK station, you wouldn%26#39;t even break out in a sweat if you took the train. travel fare with EZ-link card is $0.82 while Standard Card (single trip) is $1.20 each way.

PinkEvil%26#39;s post is bang on. Amazing how one poster from Singapore can think Toa Payoh - Braddell - Bishan - AMK (3 stops on the MRT) can take 20 mins. Its an average of 2 mins between most stops, Bishan - AMK is longer than average, hence 2+2+3 = 7 mins, excluding wait time for the train.
