I%26#39;m looking at going to Singapore at the end of March with a friend for a holiday, it%26#39;s not a stopover or anything, will 6 nights be too long? Our plans so far are to visit the Zoo, maybe do a day on Sentosa and just shop/sightsee etc, will we get bored or run out of things to do?
Any suggestions on how many nights (and anything interesting to do) would be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if 6 nights at the Marina Mandarin for $1500 (Singapore Dollars)including breakfast for 2 adults in a deluxe room a good price?
Thanks!
Is 6 nights too long to stay in Singapore?
Actually it really depends on your interests. I would say that if you are looking for a leisurely-paced vacation, 6 nights is fine. In fact, it%26#39;ll give you time to explore beyond the usual tourist sights. Here%26#39;s an itinerary which you may find helpful as a reference:
Day 1: Arrival. Have an easy day. Perhaps take a walk along Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Clifford Pier or a bumboat ride along the Singapore River. Have dinner at Lau Pa Sat. Great satays there. If not, there%26#39;re plenty of dining options at Boat Quay and Clarke Quay.
Day 2: Full day at the Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.
Day 3: Full day at Sentosa.
Day 4: Explore the ethnic enclaves of Little India and Chinatown.
Day 5: Explore Singapore%26#39;s little known countryside. There%26#39;s a Goat Farm, frog farm, veggie farms, etc. More info at: http://www.wildsingapore.com/places/sbwra.htm
Don%26#39;t miss a countryside lunch at Poison Ivy Bistro at Bollywood farm.
Day 6: Lots of options abound. If you like museums, visit the National Museum or the Asian Civilization Museum. If you like worldclass shopping centers, check out Orchard Road. If you wish to visit another rural aspect of Singapore, don%26#39;t miss Pulua Ubin. Another option is to spend the day at Jurong Bird Park.
Day 7: Home sweet home!
See, it%26#39;s easy to pack your 6 nights in Singapore with lots of fun and interesting stuff to do. And I%26#39;m just scratching the surface here.

I would suggest a really good visit to our very beautiful Museum like:
The Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM)
http://www.acm.org.sg/home/home.asp
The National Museum
www.nationalmuseum.sg/nms/nms_html/index.asp
Check out the Merlion at merlion park %26amp; take a stroll along Singapore River %26amp; check out ACM or take a River Cruise behind ACM up along Singapore River.
Check out the orchid Garden (Inside The Botanic Garden).http://www.sbg.org.sg/centralcore/nog.asp
Check out those Cultural Area like: Chinatown %26amp; Little India.
6 day with that rate in MM is not bad too. Take Ur time to visit each attraction / or shop %26amp; I am sure U will enjoy ur vacation.
Have fun.
There is more than enough to fill 6 nights, you%26#39;ll do several fo the major things.
THe best place to get a list of what is available to see is the Singapore Tourist Board website at www.visitsingapore.com plus the list of attraction here on Tripadvisor. Once you get a list of what might interest you then you can grab advice here as to what does what.
Its always difficult to tailor an itinery to someone else%26#39;s taste blind but things that I%26#39;d try and put into the 6 days you have are below (note it is biased by my personal tastes...grab as many ideas as you can to fit things best to you).
A day on Sentosa hitting Underwater World, Images of SIngapore and Fort Siloso (note that doesn%26#39;t do everything on the island - there%26#39;s other stuff to fill gaps)
THe Zoo
The Birdpark
The Night Safari
The National Museum
Orchard Road to wander the many malls
Science Centre
Discovery Centre
Asian CIvilisations Museum
River Cruise
Heritage Centres (Malay, Chinese and Chinatown)
...I could add more but that lot will more than fill your time - or rather it would mine and if our tastes coincide it should fill your time.
There%26#39;s actually quite a lot to do.
Don%26#39;t just go to places of attractions. Do the unique things as well.
Maybe you can go to Pulau Ubin, it is affordable to go there and only takes about a 15 - 20 minutes boat ride.
Take the MRT train and just laze around in there. The train loops. See the heartlands of Singapore, the way the citizens live.
Go to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. The Reserve has become well known for its wondrous birdlife, particularly during the migratory season of Sep-Mar when huge flocks of shorebirds visit the Reserve.

If U go to the zoo, check out the New Ah Meng Restaurant or Ah Meng Kopi:

Have a fun time.
fr six night in marina mandarin for 1500sgd i think is a gd deal. nice hotel, relatively good location.
Six nights in Singapore is just about enough time to give you a real taste for the place, and affords you the luxury of not having to rush about, look at everything and see nothing, though you won%26#39;t see/do everything, Singapore offers so much for the senses to enjoy.
I love the Botanic gardens, a tranquil haven in what what will doubtless be a very busy six day schedule. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll enjoy your visit. Alan
