Hotel with good location

Hi,

I did a post the other day as I was trying to decide where to stay out of the Ibis and Holiday Inn Atrium. Basically we are looking for location as priority with a pool but not too expensive. The prices of Holiday Inn Atrium is about as expensive as we want to go.

I also saw the Baywiew which has a pool and seems to be in a good location. What do you guys think of the Bayview?

Or is there anything else you could suggest for us? Like I said location is the most important, we want to be central to shopping and places to go for dinner etc. But we would love a pool too. Last time we went it was very humid and we swam between shopping quite a bit.

Thanks for your help!

Hotel with good location

Hi,

I stayed for a couple nights at the Grand Plaza Park Hotel City Hall about a year or two ago. The hotel is hardly a minute%26#39;s walk from the City Hall MRT station, practically next to an IT mall and another small mall, there%26#39;s a 7-Eleven nearby, etc.

Found the location extremely convenient.

Going to Orchard Rd, the food courts, Little India, Chinatown etc is very convenient given the fact that the hotel%26#39;s so close to the MRT station.

Room was good and clean but fairly basic considering the price.

The hotel has swimming pool facilities but I can%26#39;t comment on that because I did not try it.

Cheers,

Chris

With a Pool been on the top of Ur priority, U got to give %26amp; take on the Shopping %26amp; Public Transport side. (As in minutes walk to them).

Shopping? You are about 2 Bus stop away or about 10min walk to Plaza Singapura, Raffles City Mall, Bugis Junction / Village %26amp; 3 Bus stop away to Marina Square, about 7 Bus stop from Chinatown, about 5-6 bus stop to Orchard (Takashimaya).

MRT station, U are walking distance (about 5min to Dhoby Ghaut MRT station).

Food? There is a 24hr Aircon Food court next to Hotel %26amp; there is the 24hr 7-Eleven too.

Have fun

The best is, there is a Bus stop just out left of the Hotel Main lobby on Bencoolen street.

Ops, I was typing about the Bayview Hotel above.

Ofcourse, if rate is not an issue, this 3 Hotel would be really perfect for Ur needs:

Swissotel Stamford

Fairmont

Both above City Hall MRT station %26amp; Raffles City Mall

Hotel Intercontinental

Above Bugis MRT station %26amp; next to Bugis Junction Mall.

Chris mention of Grand Plaza City Hall is also another good option.

U can check www.asiatravel.com

or www.wotif.com.sg (or .au) for any good rate.

Have fun

Hello

I%26#39;ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Atrium twice and it is a nice hotel but in terms of location it%26#39;s not perfect just because of the distance to other attractions. However, the hotel does run a shuttle bus free of charge to Orchard Road during the day, not sure what time it stops. You can walk to other areas or get a taxi, they are plentiful, reasonably cheap and well regulated. Both the Shangri La and Mandarin Oriental are better locations but tend to be very expensive. I haven%26#39;t stayed anywhere else. A friend stayed at Rendezvous and enjoyed it but not sure on price or if it has a pool, good location though so maybe worth checking out.

Thanks
