Swiss Merchant Court or Orchard Parade

Looking for a good hotel for a family with 2 kids + 1 baby.

I have looked at the list from ';de last one';, which is really useful, trying to choose between Swiss Merchant Court and Orchard Parade

Swisshotel Merchantcourt loooks wonderful, but S$500/night = S$1500 for us for 3 nights

(Kids room+adult room)

Orchard Parade S$900 for us for 3 nights

Is it really worth the money to stay at SMC?

Maybe SMC location is nicer, near the water, restaurants etc?

I wonder what the pool is like for kids at Orchard Parade?

The Orchard Parade hotel is one star down from the MC. Some rooms are very small, a bit of a lottery what you will get. Pool is much smaller than MC. I don%26#39;t know if they have refubished the rooms recently, but a college who stayed 2 years ago said they needed updating. Can be noisy at night due the night club, depends which side of the hotel and floor your on. The hotel however has a prime postion at the top of Orchard road, and is fair value for maney.

Swiss Merchant Court or Orchard Parade

is the pool with a slide worth that much more ? That is what u have to decide.

If u just want a pool area for the kids to play in, Orchard Parade is fine. But if u want a tad more luxury (mainly in details of furnishing and quality), u may have to pay more.

Now, connecting rooms (some hotels consider that as family rooms, eg. Marina Mandarin) should function just as well as a family suite (one room big enough for everyone). If this is fine with u, consider Allson. They did some upgrades and room quality is ok.

If not, u can try the Hilton (having a January sale, if u book before the month is up, u get 50% off for weekend stays, minimum 2 nights)

I will book two rooms at that rate (btw, it comes with breakfast !) for the connecting rooms.

I will look into all the good advice you gave me.

orchard parade is a better bet. for three nights, i am sure they can offer a you a good room when you get to the reception. as for the noises, you need not worry. the hotel club does not operate anymre.

SMC is great. view, rooms, pool and all but it might be a little far for good shopping. especially orchard rd.

if you want a good time with yr kids in the pool, best if you try the water park in east coast; Wild Wild Wet.
