What time does it get dark in Singapore in March?

Hi

I am travelling to Singapore in the first week of March and was just wondering what time it gets dark in the evening, we would like to do the Singapore Flyer and was thinking a twilight ';flight'; might be nice hence would be good to know a good time to book this!

Thanks in advance

there is not much difference the whole year in singapore...but around march, i remember it should be about 7pm. a twilight flight is a good idea...quite dramatic. i also suggest that u do the flyer after you have done most of the tour around singapore. it%26#39;s more fun to see where u have been. :)

Hi Erin,

It gets dark as in sunsets at about 8pm. And I guess the best time for the Singapore Flyer is between 6-7.30pm when you could still see a bit of the sunlight and not pitch dark... hence a better view of the city. I tried taking it before at night time around 8.30pm and didnt really like the view as I cant see much except for some lightings.

If you wanna catch a good aeria night view, then have a coffee at Swissotel The Stamford during night time. The lightings is spectacular.

Cheers,

Suying

The day before You goes on the Flyer, check the Local paper (Straits Times) for The Sunrise %26amp; Sunset time for the next day. Otherwise, the concierge / Front Office at the hotel would be able to provide those information.

Otherwise, U can also check this link for update information:

Have fun

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I was thinking of booking our flight before we leave Australia - just one less thing to pay for when we get there.

The plan is to go for a twilight flight about some time between 5.30 and 7 pm on a Friday night - would we be ok just to show up or would you recommend booking in advance.

If it is not a big Event week/Month, buy the ticket 2 or 1 day before should be just good.

Well, Check this out for your twilight flight.

Good thing to know Singapore doesnt have air pollution like Bangkok or China. ^^

Guys, anyone knows how long is the full cycle? i remembered its 20 minutes. if its is so, i would take the 6.50 - 7.00 pm flight in March

cheers

Unless you are getting a big discount booking early, I would buy the tickets on the day after noting the weather conditions. Otherwise you risk it being overcast or raining when you take your %26#39;flight%26#39;.

hey erinstar

there is really no need to do any advance booking like someone mentioned.... anyway, if you go on a weeknight, it is also okay because it is not going to that crowded. though, if you go on Sat and Sun or Public Holiday, then probably you will meet the more than the usual crowd but it is not going to be pack pack like sardines pack.

so... go for the 6.30pm timeslot and you will be able to enjoy the day and night views and don%26#39;t you worry about the buying of the tickets... it is not going to that bad and as someone says, buying early and what if there is a heavy downpour and you be stuck like in a carwash..

Hi,

Maybe you should post this closer to your date of departure. used to tell friends jokingly that, in Singapore, the sin rises at 7.15 am and sets at 7.15 pm. Of course not accurately true, but if you%26#39;re coming from a temperate climate, then no long days and etc...

However, lately, I have realised that the sun has been setting later and later and at 7.30, the sky can be quite nice - also bec it%26#39;s the beg of the year. Different times of the year are a little different - nothing like summer and winter, just a wee bit different.
