The 3 terminal are in reality just 1 very big terminal, there are no physical divisions that define where one terminal finishes and the other starts. They are only really given numbers to help passengers navigate around the airport and help you identify where the check in desks for your airline is located. Because of the way it is laid out, sometimes the distance to be covered is greater if you land and take of from the same terminal than if you leave from the neighbouring one. It take about 15min to walk between the 2 furthest points, or 3-5min if you take the Shytain. If you flying in on Singapore airlines, the plane may land at different terminals for each flight, depending on where that particular plane is due to fly off next.
