Help!!! Singapore in 1 day

Hi, Im planing a 1-day stop over in Singapore. Pretty sure I will arrive Changi @ 7am and will leave again the next morning. I%26#39;m planning to stay the night @ the airport hotel so i can get back as late as i wanted to.Plan during the day is to do the zoo and/or Escape theme park during the day with shopping at Velocity mall and Raffle mall and go to night safari at night (a plenty of time to get back to airport then).I will go with my 11-years old sister and she%26#39;s quite travel-worthy (we did big day and night trip before so tireness is not a problem).Need to know if the trip is possible transport-wise.I was thinking if i do the zoo at 8.30-11, escape theme park to 3, a bit of shopping til 7, i should be able to get back to night safari at 8. But of course I don%26#39;t know if I have allowed enough time for transport (even if by taxi). Pls let me know travel time to each place (both by MRT, bus and taxi) and cost by taxi(i won%26#39;t be able to use my phone so where do i get taxi when i wanted to)

Any help would be very much appreciated

Hi oki-nichan,

Your plan is possible, but only by taxi, because zoo and night safari is out of the way, take long time by MRT or bus. So you must be ready to pay a much higher price for transport because the airport, escape theme park and Tampines mall are close to one another, but far from the zoo and night safari. My estimation and suggestion:

7.00 am arrive at Changi airport

8.00 am check-in hotel

8.30 am leave airport by taxi (about $10)

9.00 am arrive at escape theme park zoo

9.00-11.00 am rides in escape theme park

11.00 pm leave by taxi to Tampines mall (less than $10)

11.30-2.00 pm lunch and shopping

2.00 pm taxi to zoo (about $30)

3.00-6.00 pm zoo

6.00 pm dinner at night safari

7.00-9.00 pm night safari

9.00 pm. leave by taxi (about $30)

10.00 pm arrive at hotel

Hope this helps.

Help!!! Singapore in 1 day

Thank you very much, your help was very much appreciated.I%26#39;ve been thinking over the time frame and found that it%26#39;s probably too tight and not as enjoyable then for my sister.

Should I drop the theme park? how is it compared to the zoo? (im thinking not as good as the zoo could be, with the animal rides and such, but i%26#39;ve never been there). How long would you stay in the zoo to enjoy it? (Plus I want to spend a bit more time shopping and sight seeing as well - it%26#39;s a shame that we can%26#39;t stay longer). So pls advise if my changes to the old schedule is made

7am: Arrived @ Changi

8am:Take taxi to zoo.

8.30am:Arrival.Have breakfast with orangutan.

11am:Leave zoo

11.30: Arrive at Velocity@Novena (need to do some sports gear shopping, any other shop recommended there other than the usual nike, adidas?)

3pm:Get to Raffle city (by MRT%26#39;s probably the best way). Any shop recommended (clothing and toys)for price and style?

What other place Should i try to fit in schedule? anything kids would be interested in?

7.30pm:Leave for night safari

10.30pm.Leave zoo.Might try MRT and bus.Any recommended route?

Thanks heaps

oki-nichan,

The Zoo and Night Safari is nearby, would suggest that you do them together, i.e. visit the Zoo in the late afternoon then have your dinner and continue with the Safari.

You can head back to your hotel after the Night Safari.

If you are short of time, I would suggest you give ESCAPE Theme Park a miss. Its pretty small if you compared with that of those in the States or even in Australia.

For shopping, you can try VIVO City, Spore%26#39;s largest mall and accessible via MRT.

The sports gear you meantioned in another thread can be found in Vivo too.

As for Roxy and the other Aussie brands, I dont%26#39; think they are cheaper here since we have to import them. It could be more expensive than back home due to the exchange rate.

Do have an enjoyable time in Spore.

Thanks for the reply. That schedule would certainly be easier. But I really want my sister to attend the breakfast with orangutan so the morning would probably be the best. How far is it from the airport to the zoo? and from raffle to the zoo?

Close to 45 mins by taxi. Would not recommend you taking MRT and bus back to hotel, as it will take close to 1.5-2 hours (bus 138 to Ang Mo Kio bus interchange, walk across to Ang Mo Kio MRT station, take south-bound train to Raffles City, change to East-bound train, change at Tenah Merah station to go to Changi airport station. Unless you don%26#39;t mind going back so late, not that it is unsafe, but that you have to make sure you don%26#39;t miss the last train which is around midnite.
