Lorong Chencharu animal quarantine station

Hi i want to visit the animal quarantine station for about 10 days during my stay in singapore. Thats why we are comingto singapore - to visit our dog. Can u tel me an area that i must see for motels and hotels budget type so that we can conveniently travel.

The animal quarantine station is also very close to Khatib MRT station - infact, it is almost across the main road from the stadium.

I do not think there is any accommodation available anywhere between Kranji MRT and Khatib MRT.

If you stay in the city, you are only about 30 to 40 minutes by MRT to Khatib

Thank u so much- i was so pleased to see your reply to my problem. In fact we are earmarking Happy hotel 9 Lorong 10 Geylang OR somewhere like DUNLOP Street for staying. Could u kindly tell us how we can get to the quarantine station by public transport and walking (no taxis) the shortest way from EACH place separately. and the expected time to get there.

Have already answered the stadium question in your other post....

So the animal quaranyine station:

Go to Khatib MRT as before.

At this point, I would get a taxi as the walk is not simple unless you know the area.

An easy (but longer) walking route is - exit the station on the same side as the foot bridge. DO NOT cross the bridge. Instead, turn right and walk along the main road (back in the direction you have just come from by train).

Walk ahead until you come to the cross roads. Turn right.

Walk ahead until the next cross roads (Yishun Ave 1 with Sembawang rd). Turn right.

Walk ahead - next right is Lorong Chencharu.

There is a shorter route thru the housing area %26amp; public park behind the MRT station - have a look at Google Earth and see you this could work for you. Maybe, take a screen shot?

Regarding the animal quarantine area, i am sending you the google earth link. I can find my way from khatib MRT to the play fround thats seen. Between the playground and the LorongChencharu road i can see some greenery. Is that a park? do u think one can walk across that?

If you look closely at the map, you wil see that Lorong Chencharu actually continues into, or around the edge of the park.

There is a foot path that connects to it.

not very sure which one it is. actually do they allow us to walk thru the housing complex?

Yes, just walk straight thru the houseing complex until you find the park.

Cross the park and you will get to the road. Turn right.

We followed your directions and it was indeed a great help for me and my wife to find our way to the quarantine station. Actually the walk was much shorter than anticipated. The turn towards the park whch we walked across was not even 100 meters from the Khatib MRT.

If anyone else want to know how to get there in detail, i will be happy to help since we did this walk for 14 days in and out of the Sembawang Animal Quarantine Station.
