Rules for bringing in medication?

Are there any restrictions on bringin in over-the-counter medications from the State? (everything for personal use, of course). Also, my son takes ADHD medication that is technically, under US laws, a controlled substance. Will it be a problem for him to bring that into the country?

Thanks!

I also carry quite a bit of medication and have never been checked by customs. The safest way to bring medication is to have it in its%26#39; original package with the persons name etc. on it. As regards to over the counter medication I always carry a letter from my doctor itemising everything. I prefer to be safe than sorry.

Have a great holiday.

Rules for bringing in medication?

Having had open heart surgery I am required to take all sorts of %26#39;%26#39;drugs%26#39;%26#39; into Singapore, all of which I have in their original boxes, accompanied with a doctors certificate/prescription. I%26#39;ve never had any problems at at all, .............However, the rules ARE VERY strict, if in doubt, either contact the Singaporean customs authorities, they are very helpful and friendly, and they will advise you, or be CERTAIN that what you are bringing is acceptable.

Remember what is acceptable in many countries may not be acceptable in Singapore.

Hope this link helps.

A friend of mine from the US took meds for ADHD and had to be aware of the rules for different countries to make sure he had the right paperwork - including Dexadrine in his case from memory (I asked the relevant questions of the UK customs).

Both Dexadrine and Ritalin (Methylphenidate) that can be used for ADHD are on the Singapore list of Controlled Substances, so the best advise is follow that FAQ DDiggs gave you, ask the HSA in SIngapore for guidance and get the paperwork sorted.

and includes an online option for the form needed and a list required documents (including details of the drugs, docs letter, details of your stay and personal details)
