The Wife and I will be in Singapore in July for a week.We are well into our 70s,looking for a nice Hotel,that is close to local restaurants ,Department Store,and easy access to Rail. The old legs (aint what they used to be)

The Fairmont Hotel is lovely and very comfortable. 4.5 to 5 star rating. It is connected to Raffles the Plaza Shopping Centre and the City Hall MRT Underground Train station. Plenty of taxis around there too. The Fairmont is across the road from the famous Raffles Hotel. Lovely area.

You didn%26#39;t specify a budget per night, so not sure what to recommend. Hotels along Orchard Road might be worth a look too. Lots of great shopping, eating options and taxis/buses within easy reach.

Singapore is a great destination for people of any age. Hope you and your wife enjoy your trip.

Yes, The Fairmont is a nice hotel above the City Hall subway station.

An important point to note about using the escalators in the subway stations for the seniors. In Singapore, they are programmed to move at a faster speed than the usual escalators located at shopping malls. I would advised seniors in their 70s to use the ELEVATORS in the subway station to get between floors.
