Have you ever tried Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee at Hotel Rendezvous? Been around for ages, and the food is pretty aunthentic. It%26#39;s at Bras Basah Road. The restaurant is kind of behind the hotel, just ask any hotel staff. Can%26#39;t confirm the beer though.

errr...????

Rendezvous Restaurant Hock Lock Kee isn%26#39;t a Malaysian Food restaurant. They serve Indonesian Nasi Padang.

You can try the ';Penang Hawker%26#39;s Fare'; at White Rose Cafe at York Hotel. The have a thrice-yearly Penang Hawker’s Fare in March, September and December with authentic Penang hawkers dishing out their delicious fare.

Check with them whether are they still having them when you come in April. They might just extend the promotion.

I may be wrong but I think Roti is more Indian than Malay.

Anyway, if you want close to traditional Malay food, a good place to go is Haji Maimunah resturant. One location is very near the Geylang Serai Malay Village. Basically just go down a bit on Joo Chiat Road from Geylang Road.

thank you for this info -very helpful. cheers,Andy
