digital camera cheaper in mohammed mustafa or duty free

Hi,

I live in Mumbai. Can someone pls tell me whether digital cameras are cheaper at Mohammed Mustafa in Singapore or at the Airport Duty Free. I am of the opinion that Duty Free is not cheaper than the street price in most cities. Correct me if I am wrong.

Also, any idea on which of the foll cities duty free would be the cheapest for a slim light weight digital camera : Dubai / Bahrain / Muscat / Doha or Singapore Duty Free

I can only speak for SIngapore- MUSTAFA. But mind warranty issues. I cant say for sure MUSTAFA is the cheapest but you can probably get good buys there. Please just dont go during mid day it is so crowded...

Mustafa is still cheaper for most electronic goods.

Another place that you can source for cheap digital camera is in Sim Lim Square.

However, do try to compare prices and go into the shop where there are a lot locals. They have the best deals.

Usually the bigger shops do not have the best deals.

I can only compare Muscat with London but with the exchange rate at the moment Muscat is far more expensive plus the Duty Free in Muscat is really small.

There is no duty on electronic goods in Singapore. So no advantage buying in the airport (yes you dont have to pay the 7% general sales tax but you get most of this back if you buy outside the airport when you leave anyway)
