Objective This year-long campaign aims to capture mindshare among the audience in Singapore’s key source markets and grow our market share in these markets. It aims to convey to visitors that Singapore offers quality and exciting experiences



at value-for-money prices.





Rationale for

Convey to visitors that 2009 is the year to visit Singapore and enjoy the many quality and exciting experiences that the destination has to offer at value-for money prices.



Concept • The campaign consists of both international and local components.



• The global component provides visitors a variety of attractive travel deals and promotions that offer exciting and unique experiences in Singapore.



• The local component seeks to invite Singapore residents to get out and enjoy the tourism offerings here, and create more buzz and demand. As tourism ambassadors, local residesnts have a role to play in encouraging their family and friends overseas to visit Singapore.

Announcements and Launches



• The campaign was announced at the STB Tourism Industry Conference 2009 on 11 February.



• Local promotions will be launched on 12 February 2009.



• The global online initiative Fly on US will be launched on 19 February 2009. It will end on 31 May 2009.



• Global deals and promotions will be launched from 19 February 2009 onwards in the eight markets identified.

Global Launch



Initiative – Fly on US



• “Fly on US” offers visitors the chance to fly to Singapore for free.



• The contest will be launched on www.visitsingapore.com/2009reasons and



via a Facebook application on 19 February 2009 to leverage online channels and generate greater mindshare globally. The initiative ends on 31 May 2009.



• Online viewers are encouraged to fill up seats in STB’s virtual Uniquely Singapore aircraft with the names and email addresses of their friends and family overseas.



• The system will choose every 2009th name and he / she will win a pair of tickets to Singapore. There are up to $500,000 worth of air tickets to be won before 31 May 2009.



• For every name that the sender nominates, he / she will stand a chance to win $10,000 cash monthly (March, April and May 2009) to spend in Singapore.
