Advice for apartment near Serangoon MRT

We have found this apartment complex for short term stay and the rent is very reasonable. However, we do not know the area and would like to have some inputs from the local experts. The outside looks fine but the interior furnishing are basic.

Is this a good area as a base for four night stay?

Dont know about this place but I know serangoon well enough (it is a residential neighborhood about 10 to 15 mins from town in a cab depending on traffic).

It looks like one of those private residential building and someone is renting their apartment out (an apartment could have 3 or 4 bedrooms and only one or two has their own bathrooms so at least 2 bathrooms are shared, it all depends on the age of the building as the newer design apartments have showers nowadays compared to baths, etc). Think of it as a high-rise B%26amp;B.

If u want a local experience, it is an option. But if u prefer somewhere u can walk around and explore and near some attractions, u may want to do a bit more research.

Only 4 night Stay in Singapore, the best is to stay in a Hotel near town or in town.

Hotel stay in Singapore is unlike Canada where a stay in a Hotel can cost more than staying in a Short Term Apartment. Furthermore, in Singapore it makes more sense to stay in an apartment if the stay is 7 day %26amp; Above.

Our dates are May 14-18, 2009. We have four adults and need two rooms.

Maybe hotel is a better way to go.
