Such a question.
We will be coming from Johor Bahru in the evening at about 8 pm and our plane leaves from Singapore airport the next day at 3 pm. So we would need an easily accessible hotel, and these fit our budget.
All suggestions are very highly appreciated!

Which: Furama riverfront, Holiday inn Atrium, Albert Court?
Hi AK,
If you don%26#39;t mind sharing, what is your budget?
You could consider the Changi Village Hotel at Changi area, which is just a 10 minutes taxi ride from the Changi Airport. This will relieve you of traffic conditions and save your time.
Attractions at Changi Village: Good, cheap local food at the hawker centre, seafood restaurant from Pulau Ubin, some modest pubs, changi museum which showcases the time during world war two, go for a nice beach walk by the changi beach, or you could take a short trip to the White Sands Shopping centre at Pasir ris (10mins aways from Changi), or Tampines Mall and Century Square in Tampines (better choice for shopping and is also 10mins away from Changi by taxi). Taxi travelling between these place are quite cheap and should be within S$10.
Please note that shopping malls in Sg usually opens at 11am and closes by 9pm.
The Furama Riverfront, Holiday Inn and Albert Court are a bit too far off... unless you dont mind flustering here and there.
Or if you are hoping to do some night drinking, chillout places for the night of your arrival and dont mind travelling, you could consider places like the Traders Hotel, the Swissotel Merchant Court, the Galleria Hotel etc.
Cheers,
Suying

Thank you, Suying!
We have set our budget at about 120 USD or 180 MYR.
As we are planning to come from Johor Bahru (by buss? By taxi?) we would just wish to stay somewhere either on our way in our back - out of town towards the airport. Or would you suggest we take the airpotr hotel in the evening and then just come to citycenter in the morning?
Thank you!
AK
Hi AK,
The Changi Village Hotel is very near to the Airport (10mins) and USD120 seems to be able to fit it. I did a quick search on their hotel website and it goes like this:
Daily Rate/Room Approximate Cost of Stay
Superior Room Twin Bed 24sqm*Cable TV*Broadband*Large Working Desk Tastefully Customised Furnishings and Decor
Rate Details SGD 140.00 140.00
Deluxe Room King or Twin Bed Rainfall Showerhead*Cable TV/Movies*Broadband Tastefully Customised Furnishing*Higher Floor
Rate Details SGD 160.00 160.00
I would suggest you go for the Changi Village Hotel rather than the Airport Hotel as there is quite limited things to do at the Airport...
At least you could still have some time to take in the Sg Local Culture when you stayover at the Changi Village Hotel.
The Furama Hotel/Albert Court hotel will be a 30mins ride away from the airport... and sometimes longer if you happen to be trapped in a jam.
Staying at the Changi Village hotel helps you to save taxi cost too.
Cheers,
Suying
SIN is not a big city so dont worry too much about being in or out of town.
Is ur flight time at 3 pm on the way out ? or u have to be there by 3 pm for a later flight ?
What I would do is stay in a central location and explore the area with the little time I have before going to the airport. Little India and Chinatown would be good locations and the hotels u had listed are in that area.
Of the 3, i would pick furama for the best quality but location, it is not ideal (the other two are not either).
When will u be in SIN ? if u r not doing so till next month, u should seriously consider the new hotels esp. Ibis Bencoolen.
CityHub is walking distance to Little India. Ibis is also close to that area and prices r right (u only need a nice place to sleep for a few hours before checking out the city).
good luck
Hi!
Thank you. We will be arriving in the evening and hope to walk a littele around in the eevening and then in the morning. The flight leaves at 3 pm the next day.
We will add ibis to the potential hotel list. Altough taxi would be the most convenient method to go to the airport, we have uderstood there is also a metro opportunity from City Hall stop?
And again, thank you for suggestions. Locals always know better and taht is why it is susch a great forumm.
AK
Hi Ak,
You are most welcomed. =)
Yes, you could hitch a metro (we call it MRT meaning Mass Transport System). It does link from city hall to the airport.
Lately alot of hotels have been lowering their prices due to the economic crunch... i was surfing the internet room rate for Pan Pacific just now and saw a shocking rate of S$169 per night for their supersaver deal.
I guess it would be useful for you if you start browsing the hotel website itself as they have many attractive rates on offer now.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,

There are many Ibis hotels in Aus and they are clean and reasonably priced. Usually well located also. Suying you mentioned the Pan Pacific being well priced. I have tried to look for the S169 but can%26#39;t find this. Can you help?

As a huge fan of The Albert Court Hotel, I would suggest you stay there, I%26#39;ve stayed many times and have always been satified with the service and the value for money. It%26#39;s not THE BEST hotel in Singapore, but IT IS excellent value for money. Read some of the reviews on T.A. that should help you make up your mind. I%26#39;ve got less than five weeks before I again return, can%26#39;t wait. Alan.
