Pats44, there are consumer electronics stores all over Singapore. Lucky Plaza and Sim Lim Square both have many shops - but are best to be avoided unless you%26#39;re comfortable with some poor retail tactics.
For consumer equipment I suggest you consider Best Denki in Plaza Singapura. Good range, reasonable prices. This mall isn%26#39;t really a tourist mall. Catch the MRT to Dhoby Ghaut.
For higher end gear (up to the really exotic) visit the Adelphi Lifestyle Mall on North Bridge Rd. Just opposite is the Funan IT Mall which is mostly computers, but also cameras and some HiFi. Including a Harvey Normal store in the basmement with a good range of consumer gear. City Hall is the nearest MRT stop.
