Hi, Just wondering where/when it is best to change my money up. The best UK拢 to S$ rate i can get in the UK at the moment is s$2.07 to 拢1.
Can anyone tell me if better rates are available in Singapore, or should i just go with what i can get over here?
Thanks
AC

Singapore will always have better rates.

I haven%26#39;t bought SGD in the UK for around 10 years. During that time I have always got better rates than those available in the UK by using my bank and credit cards in ATMs in Singapore and, if need be, currency changers in Singapore for any Sterling cash that I have.
Generally, you get a better rate in Singapore, not much but every penny counts.
Thank you all for your response.
I think i%26#39;ll get a small amount in UK as on hand money when i arrive, and then get the rest in Singapore.
Any tips on the best place? or should i just find any ATM?
Pound to SGD, Check out Rabi Trading at Lucky Plaza:

Or if possible U can make it to Raffles Place MRT station, this is the best:
Sheen International Exchange

Tel : 6222 2040
Sheen never fail to give better rate than any others around; hence nowaday some $$ changer around it actually tried to follow the rate Sheen is using (Which is clearly display at the Electronics Board).
Negotiate for a good rate over the counter if you are changing alot. (Remember to ask for a receipt too).
Have a good time.
If you are just wanting on hand money for arrival, just grab some out of the ATMs in the airport. THere are at least half a dozen in T2 and T3.
If you do plan to do this...first make very sure you tell your bank you will be travelling they are getting stricter and stricter at blocking cards if they are accessed in unusual locations....also at the same time ask which banks in Singapore they have access agreements with - as Cirrus/Maestro symobls don%26#39;t guarantee you can use every bank%26#39;s ATMs (my HSBC and my wife%26#39;s Barclay ATM cards work in different spreads of banks in Singapore). Credit cards are less affected IME but then they usually get counted as cash advances with attendant issues.
