Hi.
Just wondered if anyone could tell me roughly how much is would cost to take a taxi from the Conrad Centennial to the Greenwood Fish Market.
Is it going to be expensive? Or is it going to be much cheaper and still easy to take MRT from City Hall?
Thank you..
Taxi to Greenwood fish market from Marina AreaI wonder why would you want to go all the way to Greenwood Fish market?
If you are going there for seafood, I hope you won%26#39;t be disappointed like I did.
From Conrad, it would be better for you to take a taxi to Greenwood but depend on the time U are going (Dinner I suppose). if it is dinner, the cost might be about S$25 (Including any of the Peak CBD Surcharge, peak hour traffic Jam %26amp; raining traffic jam etc).
Here%26#39;s some review on Greenwood Fish market:

For seafood, one of the best place nearest to you is Palm Beach Seafood (Just right infront of Hotel Lobby, at Millenia Walk) or even better still walk over the esplanade Bridge to The Merlion park %26amp; have Seafood right by the Merlion.

Save the extra $$ spend on Taxi, for a drink later at bar Opiume @ indochine; on the other of the river behind The Asian Civilisation Museum (facing Singapore River).

Taxi to Greenwood fish market from Marina AreaHi,
I%26#39;m not very sure as I haven%26#39;t eaten at the Greenwoood Fish Market though I have been to that area many times to eat at other restaurants, but I THINK (from what I see every time I pass the place) the type of cuisine served there is different from Palm Beach Seafood, i.e. the latter serving more traditional Singaporean fare. Maybe someone can clarify this? Gd for me to know as well....
If you want to go there, you would have to factor in the cost of booking a cab on your way out of the restaurant...unless you don%26#39;t mind the walk out to the main road, to digest the food. ;-P
Hi Airline Chick,
Are you referring to this place?
http://www.fishshop.sg/index.php
Seems like an interesting place. If it%26#39;s the right one, the taxi fare is as follows:
Estimated Fare using meter at 19:00 (timing affects the taxi rate as there are peak hour surcharges)
Distance: 9.57 km. | Duration: 18 min.
first km S$2.80
8.57 km. x S$0.52 per km S$4.45
waiting in traffic (~8 min.) S$2.26
peak hour surcharge S$3.33
Central Business District (CBD) surcharge S$3.00
Total S$15.85
If the timing is wrong, you might want to check out the taxi fares yourself at this website:
http://www.worldtaximeter.com/singapore
Remember only to key in the address of the place...
for yours is 2 Temasek Blvd for Conrad Hotel, and 34 Greenwood Ave for the Greenwood Market.
Cheers,
Suying
