Straits Kitchen/Kwey Teow

We are heading to Singapore for the first time in a couple of months and I%26#39;m hoping someone can help me with a couple of food questions.

Firstly, I have read that Straits Kitchen is a good place to go if you are wanting to try a bit of everything, is this correct? We are going to be in Singapore for 7 days so were thinking of going here early on so we had a bit of an idea as to what dishes we both liked the most. Has anyone been here recently that can let me know the cost as well?

Secondly, does anyone have any recommendations for a fabulous Kwey Teow? We are staying at the Stamford but don%26#39;t mind having to travel if need be, we love eating Kwey Teow at home but would love to try the authentic version if anyone has a suggestion.

Thanks very much.

Straits Kitchen/Kwey Teow

The Straits Kitchen as a great place to experience Singaporean food. The food is cooked fresh and is very high quality, it is a buffet so you can try foods, it is typical hawker food but 5*. When we were there a year ago it was around SGD45 per head for an evening meal. It was always busy so I would book in advance.

You will be very surprise with the Real Kway Teow version here in SG or Asia.

(1) The Fried Kway Teow is really yummy, as the lady fried it when U order %26amp; it is not oily at all. The best part is, she used thin flat rice noodles with the yellow noodles (instead of the usual wide Flat Noodles). And if U dun like cockles, U can alway say no cockles but with prawn.
