Is the new St. regis located centrally?

I will be staying at the St. Regis and this is my first time to Singapore. Is St. Regis centrally located %26amp; can I walk to most attratctions?

Is the new St. regis located centrally?

Its moderately centrally located, as its just off the top of Orchard Road. It is, however, away from the River and Marina Bay area. So its not in my personal favorite location but it is in my secondary choice area (if I stayed in the area Id stay in the Traders or similar which is just round the corner from the St Regis).

Walking to most attractions is not going to be viable, but then thats true of any hotel in Singapore. Singapore is not large, but its not that small.

Walking to some will be. The Botanic Garden is probably about 10-15mins walk. Orchard Road and the MRT stations on Orchard Road are walkable in a similar time span.

If you combine using the MRT with walking then a whole load of attractions open up...access to Sentosa is available in the mall on the end of the MRT line, many museums are within a 15mins walk of an MRT station and the list can go on. Notably I%26#39;d say that the Birdpark, Zoo and Night Safari are not - they are either a bus ride or for the best time use a taxi from the hotel.

Do you now what you want to see of the various sights in SIngapore? That way we can give you an idea of how best to reach them.

Hi affluent traverler,

St Regis is one of the top-notched hotels in Sg, with only hotels such as the Shangrila or the Raffles Hotel is comparable. If your expectation is into a luxury hotel, St Regis might be the best choice in terms of razzle dazzle elegance luxury. But in terms of location to attractions, I will pick the Raffles Hotel amongst these. =) The St Regis is only accessible in terms of shopping malls in Orchard. However, Sg is pretty small country so you could get to anywhere by taxi at a cheap rate compared to New York. For eg, a 30minutes ride will cost around S$30 in peak hours.

However, most of the other slightly lower grade hotels, 5 Stars, are the Fullerton Hotel, Swissotel The Stamford, Pan Pacific Hotel, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Marina Mandarin, Intercontinental, Conrad, Hilton and Hyatt etc.

Of all these, the Swissotel The Stamford has the best accessibility in terms of MRT. And hotels within the same district such as the Pan Pac, Ritz, Marina Mandarin, Fullerton and the Conrad are (walkable) near to the attractions such as the Singapore Flyer, One Fullerton River, Esplanade, shopping malls.

In terms of ethnic attractions, it will do you better to stay in Intercontiental Hotel which is in the Bugis Districts.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Suying

St. Regis is not centrally located where u can walk to many attractions but the walk to the MRT to get around town is pretty cool (unlike NYC, the boulevard along Orchard Road is very pretty, lined with trees, benches, shops, lights, etc)

U can walk to Botanic Gardens from St. Regis and Orchard/Scotts Road. When I want to be near town area (orchard), I prefer to stay in this area (where St. Regis, 4S(easons) and the Regent is located. If u like to walk, u can even walk all the way to the marina ! Of course, along the way the cafes are a great place to stop for a COLD drink.

Enjoy you stay.

PS. cabs r dirt cheap in SIN so dont worry too much about the location (i love it coz it is less crowded and quieter than most town areas, more lush too)
