....enjoy Indian food alot and any opinion on these two would be helpful, the Saffron Bistro and Vansh. Or any that are worth a try.
Also any suggestions for South Indian Restaurants whould also be great.
Any feedback on these restaurants.....Haven%26#39;t been to those but the best ones i have tried are Muthu%26#39;s Curry house and Banana Leaf Apollo on Racecourse Road, Komala Vilas for Vegitarian foon on Serangoon Road and, if you eant high end, the Rang Mahal in the PanPacific hotel Marina Square.
Any feedback on these restaurants.....Vansh serves northen indian cusine with a modern twist. E.g. instead of flat pappadams, they serve pappadam rolls that look like western long bread sticks. The interior feels like a modern boudoir, with warm, cozy lighting and plush cushions. It%26#39;s rather intimate and romantic really.
Foodwise, they do great! Excellent lamb vindaloos and tandoori. For desserts, try their lychee kulfi which is an unusual but delicious version of the indian kulfi ice-cream.
I can%26#39;t comment on Saffron Bistro as I%26#39;ve not been there.
A good South Indian restaurant would be Samy%26#39;s Curry at Dempsey Road(my absolute favourite for fish head curry!). For indian vegetarians, Raj at Syed Alwi Road near Mustafa Center at Little India is another good choice.
Banana Leaf Apollo on Racecourse Road is excellent (It serves both north and south Indian dishes).
Komala Vilas on 76-78 Serangoon Road, Little India, is serving simple and delicious vegetarian food (good prices)
Dosa Corner, just a step from Komala Vilas, serves very nice Dosa (Popular south-Indian dish that comprises a rolled crispy crêpe, stuffed with various fillings and served with different sauces and deeps on the side...)
Muthu%26#39;s, on 138 Race Course Rd., is a good old curry house
Queen%26#39;s Tandoor in Robertson Walk (adjacent to Robertson Quay) serves excellent North-Indian cuisine in a nice surroundings... : www.metropolasia.com/index2.php…
Saffron Bistro is OK....';healthier'; indian food, but a bit bland (for my taste).
Since our fav Moti Mahal has closed or relocated...(can%26#39;t find them) We%26#39;ve been going to Heritage on Bukit Timah %26amp; 6th Ave.
Excellent northern indian, and many good veg dishes, too. Great service and decent prices. Samy%26#39;s is a bit disappointing.... so many other great choices here.
The Tandoor in the Holiday Inn is also good, especially the Sunday brunch. Great price.
Thanks to everyons suggestions.....
Made it to Muthus Curry House, really enjoyed it, very busy so quick turnover of food, did not have the fish head curry though!!
Loved the Apollo Banana Leaf, really tasty food..... just ran out of time to get to the others but on our next visit will be sure to fit them in.
