Singapore Taxi Tours

We are arriving into Singapore via cruise ship at the end of our cruise at approx 9am early March 09 and flying out of Changi airport at 9pm same day. We would like spend a few hours seeing something of Singapore (we have been here before but not for some years). Can someone tell me if we can book a taxi to collect us at the shipping terminal, give us a tour for a few hours then drop us off at Changi for our flight home. I have looked at bus tours but our big problem is what to do with our luggage between arriving and departing on same day. Any advice would be great.

If you dont like the idea of carting your luggage around and leaving it in the taxi whilst your out and about, go straight to the airport and either check your luggage in for your flight if your airline desk is open (upto 48hours before your flight for Singapore airlines) or leave you luggage at the left luggage counter and then tour singapore relatively unencombered either by Taxi or on your on on public transport. The Airport is about a 25min taxi jounrney from the airport.

Thanks to everyone for advice. Was not aware we could check in luggage and then leave airport. Do you need to book taxi tour ahead of time as not when we will disembark and how long it will take to check in at airport. Can anyone tell me if the free Singapore bus tour is worthwhile?

I assume you are disembarking at the PSA Terminal when you mentioned that it%26#39;s a shipping terminal? Or are you disembarking at the Singapore Cruise Centre? If it%26#39;s the PSA Terminal, yes i wld suggest you book a taxi in advance. If it%26#39;s SCC, then you dont have to worry as SCC is located just next to a big shopping mall known as the Vivocity.

I would think you have ample time to do a self tour and doesnt really need a taxi tour guide, especially since you%26#39;ve been in Sg some years back.

Sg%26#39;s transporation is still as efficient, if not more efficient, compared to some years back.

Perhaps all you need to identify is the places of interest which you would like to go...
