Rate-wise, Im contemplating between the NOVOTEL vs SWISSOTEL. So, if someone can show me where i can get the best deals online, please do.
I am traveling with my husband..a Valentine weekend getaway..and since its also our first time in singapore together, i want it to be a fantastic one.
i have also thought about orchard hotel but would prioritize dining over shopping...and have also considered the scarlet boutique hotel bcoz of its luxe interiors perfect for a romantic valentines. Your inputs please?

Are you referring to the Swissotel Stamford or the Swissotel Merchant Court?
My guess is the Swissotel Merchant Court. :)

I suggest you try a location near to the river where you can dine at places such as Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, The Central Mall facing Clarke Quay, Chimes and even Raffles itself. From memory Swiishotel Merchant Court looks really lovely from the outside.
I just looked up the map, that hotel is near THe Central which is a wonderful place to shop and has some great places to dine like Tung Lok%26#39;s Signatures restaurant. The Central is probably one of the best places to go for dining (re malls) in Singapore IMHO.
Are the dining options in ';The Central'; in Clarke Quay near the Swissotel Merchant Court the more upscale sit down dining experiences, or are there also foodcout type outlets? :)

Thanks for the links!
I would go for Swissotel Merchant Court - it%26#39;s newer and closer to Clarke Quay where you can take a lovely stroll next to the Singapore River. I also like it that it is a purpose-built stand-alone hotel, unlike the Novotel which is located within a shopping center. If it is important, the MRT station is also closer to the Swissotel Merchant Court.
The Central (the shopping center across the Merchant Court) has some sit-down dining options, but not great. I would go for the al fresco dining by the river and there are plenty of choice there.
Have a good getaway!
i%26#39;d go for swissotel. it%26#39;s well-located and the service is great. the rooms are good as well, ask for a room that looks out to the pool and clarke quay.
you will find restaurants and bars right at your doorstep. and an mrt station is also close by.
We stayed in the Novotel lasy year and was planning to do so again this year.Great location. Barely noticed the shopping centre except the Mcdonalds where my teenage son wnt for his inbetween meals meals.
Is there a good reason for considering changing to the Swissotel? Perhaps that was the nice pool we could see from our window.
When staying at the Novotel you do not notice the shopping mall, it is quite convenient if you need to get any nibbles, drinks for your room. It is not much further from the MRT than Swissotel, also I know if you have a family the Sissotel expect you to book two rooms whereas Novotel up to 16 they stay and eat breakfast free, the pool at Novotel is fine.
