I have been doing a bit of reading about the markets in Singapore. Just wondering if anyone can give me a bit more detail about what they actually sell at Chinatown Markets Vs Bugis Village Flea Markets and what times and days are they open? Are either of these markets anything like Chatachuk or Pat Pong in Bangkok or Chinatown in KL?
I am trying to decide whether to spend the weekend at the markets in Phuket or the markets in Singapore. Which are better. I am looking for cheap imitation goods, clothes, shoes, souviners, and children%26#39;s clothing and shoes (3 yr old boy).
Which is better value for money?? I also love the bargaining experience.
Thank you for your responses!!
Markets in Singapore Vs Markets in Phuketdefinately markets in phuket are better. Singapore markets are more expensive and although you can try bargaining they don%26#39;t move much. there are imitation goods in singapore assuming the markets haven%26#39;t just been raided which they do from time to time but I wouldn%26#39;t call them cheap esp by comparison to thailand.
Markets in Singapore Vs Markets in PhuketGo for the markets in Bangkok. Very difficult to find imitation goods in Singapore.
Hi there. Bugis is nothing like Chatuchak (except for the heat!) or KL. I would recommend Thailand markets over Singapore for both copy and original goods. Both price and variety and much better in thailand. good luck!
Have gotten back from my trip and agree with everyone else on this forum! KL %26amp; Thailand have much better markets.
I was disappointed with the ones in Singapore. The most exciting part of Chinatown markets were we went for a trishaw ride through the markets! That was great. As for the shopping and bargaining....na!
I wouldn%26#39;t waste your time going to the Bugis Village Markets. Chinatown was better but still not that exciting. I found the store owners not very willing to bargain like those in Thailand and Malaysia.
Singapore had many other brilliant things to do %26amp; we loved our time there but market shopping isn%26#39;t one of them!
