I have booked the Ritz, now what floor?

I understand that higher floors have a nicer view, but are there any other differences Higher/Lower floor? (Maybe newer, not so dated rooms?)

Other things to wish for when I e-mail the hotel?

3 children can we ask for anything for them?

Tina, Did you not make your request and requirements known when you booked the room ? i.e. what floor you preferred, what facilities they had for children ? Should you not have sorted those things out before you booked? Alan.

every floor has different category rooms eg. Kallang view, Marina view and club rooms versus deluxe rooms as well as the suites of course. The club lounge/floor is pretty high up (sorry dont remember which floor but one of the top floors as I do remember the view was great in the evenings).

So u never know which floor u will be at. I am not sure about their most recent update/renovation as the last time I was there a few years back, the property still looks good (well maintained). They are in no way outdated in looks (very modern and trendy esp. the lobby decor).

Dont know if they still do this but they had provided a baby bag for my then 6 month old son - baby shampoo and wash, a bath toy, etc. My son is now nearly 7 ! I still have a photo of him at the Ritz pool and in one of the bathroom sink ! All 3 of your kids can fit into that shower room (huge !).

Enjoy your stay at the Ritz.

Hi Tina,

From what I understand of hospitality practices is that you will only be given what you requested for ';subjected to availability';. And making the request earlier in advance do help as it helps the front desk to make plannings and give you priority.

As per mentioned by De Last One, there are different views at different facing of Ritz Carlton. And the best way to sort it out is to email their reservations team/front desk to check out the facings and then put in your request. At the same time, you could also check with them if there are anything they could offer for your 3 children.

As currently the hotel industry is quite badly hit by the economic crunch... you never know what they could offer you as they do appear to be more flexible now.

Cheers,

Suying

And also, if you happen to check-in during their off-peak season... you could actually request to view the different rooms first before you settle down for the allocated room. That is, if the front desk has enough manpower available at that moment to assist you.

Cheers,

Suying

All floor are identical except for the club floor which occupy the 2 levels or so near the top (I have stayed there once and personally I think that they are identical as well except for the need to use your room key in the lift and the Lounge. The corner rooms are are called Premier suite 2 per floor and are larger with a living room and larger bathroom. Ones that face the river are called Kallang, and the bay Marina View - they are both otherwise identical. There may well be bigger suites/ presidential suite at the top floor as all the bigger hotels seem to have. You can request an extra bed but that normally costs extra and will include breakfast if its included in your rate. Cots are free.

Thanks everyone, lots of good info from you as always on TA!!

Yes, I have made a booking and its SIA stopover.

I requested ';lower floor'; and baby cot when filling in their form, but I guess I can e-mail the Ritz if we have any specific wishes....

I chose lower floor (not too fond of hights), but then I read some review from some one who had been disturbed buy noices when staying on a lower floor.

forgot to mention, there is a price difference between kallang and marina view rooms.

sorry meant to say, coz of the price difference between the kallang and marina view rooms, the view of the room is not a matter of request. For what you pay, they will assign the appropriate room category and that can be on any floors. You can only state that you prefer a higher floor or away from the elevators (btw, even if u r close, it is not that noisy in this hotel).

Good luck

OK, I suspect SIA stopover would be the cheapest rooms. Would that be Kallang or Marina view?

I dont like hights, but if the rooms higher up were more refurbished we would prefere them.

I wonder if anyone knows if there are any hawker stalls nereby?

Any 2-3 hour sightseeing tour recommended?

Easiest way to Sentosa from the Ritz?

I am so much looking forward to this holiday!!

No offence, but threadstarter has 41 posts through about 20 different threads ALL asking for advice/opinions, not once has %26#39;Tina%26#39; offered any.

Pardon my forwardness, but a forum is not meant to be a one-way street.

Sorry, don%26#39;t feel like holding your hand or spoon feeding you today. You%26#39;re not Swedish, are you?
